Halime Ozdemir
Halime Özdemir, born in Famagusta, Cyprus.

Whilst studying at the UAL I specialised in Drawing, combining traditional drawing skills in addition to Printmaking and Photography.

Having developed a sound grounding in the arts, I have exhibited at The Menier Gallery (Central London) and participated in the annual Camberwell Arts Festival 2005  and 2008.

Currently working as Assistant to Project Coordinator at Momart (www.momart.co.uk), an acknowledged authority on the handling of fine arts and antiquities. I have worked on a number of projects for the V&A, Tate Britain, British Museum, Pera Museum, Louvre, National Gallery of Ireland and many more. As part of the Exhibitions Team, are partly responsible for organising all aspects of the logistics relating to exhibitions as well as offering support necessary to organise and coordinate the movement and installation of Fine Art and Antiquities on behalf of Museums, Galleries, Institutions and lenders in the UK and overseas.

As a freelance writer, I have extensive experience in writing Press Releases, Translations and Editing. Specialising in creative writing for Arts, Culture and Media industry. Previously on the Editorial Board for BN Magazine, I offered editorial support and critique services that neither dictated a political position nor personal bias. I also continue to write articles and features for the Culture and Arts section of the magazine.

As Project Development Coordinator for Expressarte, UK - Specialists in Anglo-Latin American Art offering an extensive range of services specialising in event production, forward planning and management services in flash event production, visual and performance arts, community, cultural and heritage sectors. In 2009 I completed a PR campaign for a float design competition as part of the annual Carnaval del Pueblo, (www.carnavaldelpueblo.co.uk) and were part of the artistic committee offering curative advice and organization of CDP exhibition following the event on 07/10/2009 at the Cumming Museum, London.

In my spare time I also provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support as an when needed as a PA to the Directors of London Turkish Film Festival, LTFF (www.ltff.org.uk) as well as initiating fund raising and marketing strategies in the lead up to and during the event.

I have in the past written for Richard Osborne, a philosopher, writer and lecturer whom has published numerous works including the book Philosophy in Art, which I wrote for, and international best-seller Philosophy for Beginners which has been published in more than thirty countries.

As a founder member of The Kardelen Project UK I have project managed independent and international  projects.


Having worked as assistant to local artists around the Mediterranean coast of Turkey I began developing techniques in print using Dry-Point Etching and Mono-Print.

In 2007 I worked as artist assistant to Taiwanese Video Artist Chen Chieh-jen to which I went onto help curate the space for the exhibition at the 10th International Istanbul Biennial 2007, run by the Istanbul Foundation of Culture and Arts, Curated By Hou Hanru.

Worked as part of the project "I Pirate My Own Work" for Chen Chieh-jen to which I worked as a street seller, 
selling pirated copies of the Artist's work throughout the opening week of the 10th International Istanbul Biennial. Also worked on the making the documentary to go with the project.


For the past Five years I have worked closely with the CORPSET Group (London, Malaga), while developing and Co-ordinating The Kardelen Project UK (Istanbul, Antalya, Famagusta) and founder and  developer of Smushki.
